We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to be based in our clients Darwin workshop. Leadership of the Darwin team delivering consistently high quality standards of refurbishment and modification of customer valves, actuators and related oil and gas products with revenues in line with established budgets / estimates.
Our client is a global leader in engineering, design and manufacturing technologies for the oil and gas industry. Working on both Onshore & Offshore as well as Subsea projects in some of the most remote locations in the world.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
You must reside in Darwin or have the capability to relocate to Darwin at short notice
Leadership of a team 5 machinists providing consistently high standards of refurbishment and modification of customer valves, actuators and related oil and gas products
Ensure delivery of world class customer service to your customers, including excellent communications at all times
Provide off site and on site customer service, meeting with clients regularly on any matters pertaining to our business
Ownership of the order backlog and work in progress ensuring on time delivery of orders and accurate revenue estimates
Where necessary, lead practical valve strip down, trouble shooting and refurbishment activity
Ensure that quality policies and procedures are adhered to and these are reviewed for changes or improvement on a regular basis
Promote a positive “fun” working environment where employees are recognized for their achievements and positive contributions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The qualifications/certifications required include:
Minimum of 5 years' experience within a leadership role, ideally within heavy industry
Sound Knowledge of industrial safety legislation, issues, general requirements and practices ideally within the Oil & Gas industry
Hands on valve knowledge essential
Australian permanent resident or citizen (no sponsorship available for these positions)
